OT - 158 gr. FP XTP in pistol

Post by deerwhacker444 »

What will the Hornady 158 gr. FP XTP do in a pistol at 357 velocities?

I've got some rounds loaded with 16gr. LilGun and 10gr of Bluedot that I've been plinking with. When shooting these out of my 6.5" Taurus, will they have enough velocity to make the FP perform correctly or should I switch to HP for deer sized game out of a pistol? I thought the FP was mainly for shooting out of a Carbine.

Thoughts?

Hornady recommends that bullet for some pretty good speed. They have a chart somewher on their site...
