OT - Prep for Saturday

Post by 6pt-sika »

Three of us went to the club today and shot a couple rounds of what we call "Jap Wobble Trap" . I took my W.C.Scott 10 gauge loaded with an ounce and a quarter of #8's . I ended up shooting three rounds with the old gun !
And just a few minutes ago finished reloading my empty 2 7/8" hulls for saturday !

Was gonna take the 10 and a little Parker 16 gauge GH damascus . But I think I'll go with the Big Boy only saturday !

Going out for doves?

With a 10ga?

I'm planning on my first rabbit hunt in ages with the M39 from Mic.

I have this old W.C.Scott my maternal grandfather had and I have another 2 7/8" 10 with fluid steel barrels that was made by Ithaca back in the day !

Still wanna get a Parker 10 Damascus GH or better to shoot !

My plan for saturday is to sit by a power pole I sat at last year as we watch our sunflower patch . I'm gonna take one of those nice comfortable fold up bag chairs , my ammo and a cooler with water , iced tea , pepsi and a couple cheese sandwiches !

So if they don't flu atleast I won't starve

Supposed to be 7 or 8 of us at this 3 acrea patch !

Well we have a small feast getting put together for when we return saturday evening !

I've thawed out about 10 pounds of venison tenderloin from a deer I killed a couple weeks ago . And we have a bag of spuds to peel , slice and fry !

And of course a couple bags of pre mixed tossed salad !

As you can see it's 2 hours after legal shooting time and I am on the PC !

We got a downpour precisely at noon (legal shooting time). So after I got completely drenched and before my W.C.Scott 10 and the little Browning Superposed 20 I ended up carrying as a back up got totally water logged I packed up my stuff and got the heck outta there and it is still raining here at my house two houes later !

So you might say the opener of dove season was a bust or you might say it was a reprieve for me to come in the house and take a nap (which I think I'll do shortly) !
