frogs

Does any one know where the frogs used on military slings might be purchased. I want to make a custom strap and use these for attachments.

frogs, the brass goodies on a military strap. God only knows how they got that name.

I'd say your best bet would be to find and old dry rotted sling in a junk box at a gun show and take it apart for the material in it.

You mean they use slingshots to shoot frogs at the enemy...? :o

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Is the 'frog' the part like a squared-off figure-8, or buckle, or one of the ones that has a flip-up friction-lever to lock it in place (like the old seat-belts)?

I've wondered where one gets metal hardware like that as well; the shops that sell nylon webbing typically sell only plastic buckles & snaps I'd not trust with a heavy/valuable rifle.
