Possibility of High scope mounts on top eject 94

Post by Rhys.94.375 »

Hey, i was speakin with a mate, who i use to hunt with, he had a 30-30 94 an he reminded me that hes thutty thutty had a scope on it, an he recalls it was a top eject.

it was a fair while ago since he got rid of it.

so i am wondering why you couldnt put a high set of rings on a top eject. yes the bullet will eject an hit the scope, but if the mounts are tight then the brass shouldnt effect the scope an change the settings... or will it :)

Cheers
Rhys

I think main issue isn't brass hurting scope or changing zero, but rather brass bouncing back down into receiver and jamming action.

Maybe a really high mount would work, especially if with a sheet of steel to deflect the brass to the side rather than just bounce it back down off the scope bottom.

Scout scopes solve the problem if you like them.

Good peeps or a tang sight are an option as well.

No doubt others will have some good ideas.

i had shot the rifle a long long time ago when i wsa new to shootin, it was definatley scoped ontop.

lookin on the top of the reciver there isnt room to put a rear ring on... infront of the eject is fine but no room around the hammer to put a ring?
Seems scout scope is the way to go
