Some don`t, in the day they used hemp rope, got stoned first

That`s my home made match, cotton clothes line rope soaked in a salt petter water mixture then dried.

Well, I'm not accounting for the dirt/rock ridges, but it sure looks like a badly overgrazed pasture based on what we see on the near side of the fence. I've seen some mined areas that look like that topography. Don't know???? Those ridges aren't any glacial features are they??

Well you're probably taking the picture from the ungrazed road area, looking into a quite thoroughly grazed pasture. I would say from the good ground cover showing that this is not an "overgrazed" pasture, but one that was used heavily and then probably the cows were taken away. No gullies needing healing in this situation.
