OT: Celebrated last day of bird season ....

Post by 86er »

... well, last day to shoot birds until Sept (preserve season), by what else? Shooting birds!

CRS, his daughter Lyle and I hunted in OK at the Bar-R. We took 30 pheasant and 30 quail. Lyle's middle name must be "Annie" because she knows how to use a shotgun.

Here's my 12 year old retired field trial dog, Brownie. Back in her day she would have gotten a boot in the butt for the low tail, but these were released birds and there was no competition so I let her slide:

Our Pheasant season ended two months ago and I'm flushing birds all over the place, Hope they're still here come October..

Nice photos, always good to see females shooting well, I've been out shot by a few, well to be honest quite a few..

Bogie,
Come on over. We need help cleaning out the freezers so I have a place for a bison and next years elk, deer, antelope, hogs and birds, etc.
While you are at it, bring along some pheasant recipes.

Maybe we should have a pheasant eating party with some birds fried, smoked, grilled, baked, etc. Reckon we could attract some local levergunners? Griff could not make our last party when we had water buffalo brisket, backstrap, alligator appetizers and untold veggies and desserts, beer and wine. My daughter cooked for 60 people and only 50 made it, so we had some yummy leftovers for several days.
