Marlin ? What's the proper name for the part

Post by 2ndovc »

Need to order a new mag tube plug screw for my 94S. What's the proper name for the piece dovetailed into the barrel that the scew threads into? That particular piece isn't on any of the exploded views I can find.

thanks

On the parts drawing for my 1894 Cowboy Limited with the octagon barrel, it's called a Magazine Tube Stud. Since the 1894S is a round barreled gun I'm not positive, but it seems the name should be the same.

I just went to the Marlin web site and in their owners manuals they have a very generic exploded drawing that does show your part.
Here is the link to the Owners Manual:
http://www.marlinfirearms.com/pdfs/manu ... e_1894.pdf
Print it out and keep it.
OBTW, the part you want is the same name as I posted at the top.

Have you called Marlin? Their phone number is: 1-800-544-8892.
They'd have the info and part I'm sure.

Thanks Joe,

I knew somebody would know. Never thought of checking the Marlin site. Haven't had many newer firearms until recently. Didn't even think of checking with the factory. Duh!

Called Marlin and parts are on the way. That little stud was $12

Bought 2 sets, my 94P/44 mag seems to be stripping the screw.

Jason,

I went through a period where I had a mind block against the factorys. Like you said "DUH". I keep a big list of parts sources in my favorites but for the most part, for current production guns, I'll go to the factory.
That way, you know it has a much better chance of being the right part the first time.

Don't forget to print that manual. It's worth the ink and paper.
