OT: 28 years ago today ...

Post by J Miller »

... my wife and I were married. Goodness, how time flies. Seems like just yesterday we were young and ornery with lots of life ahead of us. Now, we're just ornery.

Thanks for the good years, now lets think of something ornery to celebrate this anniversary  .

Congratulations to you and your wife of 28 years. There must be something about this Central Illinois water that makes a marriage work. My lovey bride and I passed 30 years last September. Here's what I did to impress her. The day before our anniversary I stopped by Jewel Osco on the way home from work. I picked up 3 dozen roses at 10 bucks per dozen. After my wife went to bed I put my plan in motion. I put three roses in our bedroom that she would see when she woke up. I put three roses in our bath, which is her first morming stop after she gets up. I put thirty roses in a vase on our kitchen table, and the the remaining six in a short vase in her vehicle. After I sat that all up I went to bed and I was out of the house the next morning before she got out of bed. I don't mind saying I scored alot of points on creativety and of course I had big plans for the evening. After she woke up and saw my handy work she called me at work and said someone had been in the house and left a bunch of flowers scattered about. Wanted to know if I knew anything about it. I admitted I did so she whispered sweet nothings in my ear about the possibilities of a pretty interesting evening. During the conversation I thought her voice sounded a little rough but I figured I'd really got to her so I didn't think any more about it. Well, by the time she got home from her job she was hurting bad with the flu. Our big plans for the evening had changed. I nursed her a little that night and she went to bed early. She got over it and we had our big night a few days later. With a good marriage ya take the good with tha bad and work to get through the tough times and laugh and enjoy the good times. There ain't too many guys got the deal I got and I am as happily married today as I was the day I said " I Do".
