Handloading 44 mag. with LEVERevolution powder by Hogdon

Post by daisygordoninc »

I have a new Winchester 1892 44 mag. I want to load some 44 magnum ammo with LEVERevolution Hogdon powder.
Has anyone seen a workup for this yet ?

No; their data sheet is on their website, and doesn't list anything for the .44Mag. However, an email to them will probably get you something.

See Hodgdon SuperLever Powder Data for both SuPerformance and LeveRevolution powders.

They seem to have forgot about the big bores on that data sheet link. Huh. The rest is interesting. Is the stuff available on the street yet?

I picked up some LEVERevolution powder in Lacey Washington Cabela's last week. I was sure I would find a load for the
FTX bullets for my 44 mag. rifle. Still can't come up with a load.

LEVERevolution powder is a rifle powder. It is not for the 44. It falls between BL-C(2) and H380 on the burn rate chart.

Thanks that chart by Hornady is helpful, and I'll just have to look around to find what load they
are using. I'll call them later today, thanks.
