Greenville,SC gun show

Post by Stan in SC »

Saturday I went to the gun show in Greenville,SC.I have been desirous of reducing the number of rifles I own so I took the Model 94 Trapper which I have had advertised on the classifieds here.Put my lucky little "FOR SALE" sign on it and started walking the show.I sold it before I finished the first row of tables.Continuing on I happened on a friend who had a table and lo and behold there was a .44 Magnum model 94AE trapper for sale which I purchased.I never made it to the end of that row till I was accosted by a gent who was very very anxious to buy my .44.After a bit of haggling I agreed to part with it at a tidy profit.
Now I have money in hand which I will take home and I will have accomplished my goal of firearm number reduction.BUT....this was not to be.I stopped by a buddy's table to talk and he had a customer there trying to sell him a complete AR lower.I know, not a lever gun.He saw me and said that I should give this gent XX dollars for this lower so I did.So now I have a new complete lower for not much money but then what good is just a lower?Soooo I went two tables down to an acquaintance who sells brand new complete uppers for not much money and who made me a sweetheart of a deal on a complete upper which he fit to my lower and now I and the owner of a really nice AR in .223 which is a gun I have been wanting to play with for quite awhile.I really did have good intentions of reducing the number of firearms when I went to the show.I went in with a lever gun and came out with a black rifle. The lower unit is a new one made entirely of polmer by "Plum Crazy" and the upper is a Delton which I am assured is good.It makes a really light rifle.Range reports will follow.

That's what you get for trying to reduce your head count! Firearms collections, least of anything, like "downsizing"! Congrats on the new AR. Looking forward to the range report!

BTW, who ran the show in Greenville?

What is downsizing? I have only sold one firearm in the last 20 yrs. And that was because it had the audacity to jam twice after I had loved and cared for it for 5 yrs. And I regretted doing that a few weeks later.

There are still three more rifles up for sale, two of which are advertised here in the classifieds.
I did get to the range for a quick trial run with the AR.It shoots great. There will be a get acquainted period.

Be very careful doing things like that. ATF has been known to sting people with "selling without a license" for doing that...

I have a Delton. Not a bad gun.
