Cleaning rod guide for Sharps? OT?
Does anyone know of a cleaning rod guide for the Sharps rifle? The chamber end keeps shaving the coating off my rod, I tried making one out of a 45-70 case and it is sorta OK, but hoping there might be something better out there. Thanks.

I have a brass bore guide from Uncle Mikes on my cleaning rod that works on both ends of the 45 caliber barrels, altho it is just a touch to big in outside diameter to go inside the highwall action.

jnyork, Dan Phariss makes a stainless steel cleaning rod that a lot of the BPCR guys use and they like it. Search around google and you can find his phone number and/or email addy.
Shiloh Rifles has this one on their sight. Don't know if it's one of Phariss', but if they endorse it I'd say it's good to go.

tvkenny, I think this one will work, I have to order some other stuff so will throw one in, if it doesn't work I can give it to someone and not be out very much money. Thanks.
If this doesn't work, I have a good stainless rod in my muzzlestuffer equipment and will try that.

jnyork one thing you need to be mindful of when getting accessories for your 75, is that it's action is not a robust as a 74's. So if something says it's for a Sharps action theres a fair chance it'll be to big. Highwall stuff like chamber guides and cartridge camming tools are closer to what our 75's need.

Re: Cleaning rod guide for Sharps? OT?
It's a tool , we'll call it a small crow bar, that you can use to fully seat a cartridge in the chamber. Say for if you're shooting a heavily fouled bore, or if you want to seat the bullet out and then engrage the rifling with the bullet.

Just be sure to leave a channel on the thing so that as you cam that catridge in that the tool passes OVER the primer without touching it, don't want any AD's
