Way OT: Floods in Rio

Friends,
2011 began badly. Landslides in the Rio de Janeiro mountain area have so far claimed 753 lives. 117 people are still missing, presumably dead under the mud and debris.
A tornado hit one of the area towns this morning - more destruction and death. It is still raining.

My wife works with a lady from Brazil... she's been watching it on Brazilian web news and taking calls from her brother.

Our prayers for all those people.
Rio de Janeiro was once a place of admiration for all Brazilians. Unfortunaly, the creme de la creme of corrupt and populist
politicians set their nest there along the last 30 years.
It's also home of the most virulent antigunners in our country.
Such a nice and friendly people don't deserve that.
