Hartford 45colt lever gun model92

Post by stringbean »

I was wondering if anyone else has tried one of these. My son bought one and after shooting his i went out and purchased one. These are some of the most accurate out of the box repro's
i have ever fired. They are also well made for the money. They have an octogon barrel 24" and a real good pair of iron sight's.I think i gave 500.00 for mine and i love it.

Mine isn't stamped Harftord, it's stamped Rossi but they're built by the same outfit down in Brazil and I love the little bugger. Many others here own them and like 'em also.

Welcome to the forum!

Mine is the 20" version, .45Colt also... Great little shooter, haven't measured across the Flats of the barrel, but it appears untapered... hefty little shooter, holds nice and steady...

I have a few of the EMFs and love 'em. I've got a warm spot in my heart for EMF as they held out some ten or so years before succumbing in mid-2006 to the lawyer safety included in every Legacy (LSI) Rossi since LSI took over from Interarms as the largest Rossi importer. With or without safety, the EMF/Hartford Rossis seem to have an extra layer of care 'n attention -- better sights (at least on the carbines) and generally nicer wood. My understanding now is that the EMF-Rossi relationship is no longer, since Rossi/Braztech/Taurus is the only current importer of their own rifles,... and any new EMFs you find are likely NOS. Too bad.

My Hartford 92 .45 is an early one, the Colt I bought in 1959.
