Starline Shines Again

The other day I ordered 250 pcs. of Starline .45-70 brass, knowing that I would have to wait a little while since their website said "Backordered expected availability: 11/21/2010". Well, I got a note today from FedEx saying that my order had been shipped. Nothing beats good customer service like exceeding expectations.

I got brass for my .38-55 from Starline and It's the cat's meow. I can
chamber projectiles sized to .380 whereas with Winchester brass I'm not able to.

I've gotten Starline brass for my 45 Colt, 45-70 and I think some for 38-55. Great brass. I need to order some for a 32-20 and now a 38-40. You know that old saying "Life's short" and they're not kidding.

I got lucky too. Was gonna backorder Starline 45 colt and 45/70 brass. Walked into Omaha Cabela's and they had a bag of 100 for each. $22 and $43 respectively. About threw my back out, bending down so quick to grab them. They also had 22/250 brass on sale for $29 per 100 bought 2 bags also. I dont have a 22/250 but figured if I ever bought/found a 250 Savage; it could be necked up

When you buy brass in a caliber you don't have, to maybe neck up for a gun you don't own, well. I'm thinkin' that that's a sure sign of true sickness. I doubt a 400 step program could help such a fella.

Those of you involved in this post, do you consider Starline to be superior to say Winchester, Remington and Magtech? If so why, I'm preparing to make a purchase soon, and do you prefer nickel or brass?

I have used Starline in .480 Ruger, and find it to need less working after firing than Hornady brass or the nickel plated stuff from Speer. The nickel plated cases have a shorter life, 6 reloads and they are showing case mouth splits. Starline brass is on 20th reloading and still looks perfect. The .480 Ruger is one of the higher pressure rounds, and is probably harder on brass than the .45-70 or any other of the black powder based cartridges.

I almost exclusively use Starline brass for reloading. Both .45-70 and .45-90 are excellent in their original calibers or easily formed into other cases. You cannot ask for a better product.
