Advice on Marlin 1894 in 45LC please

Post by sw41mag »

Need some advice/help on this one boys. I have a line on a Marlin lever, looks like the 1894 model with 20" barrel, not octagonal, in 45LC. Asking $399 new in the box. Does that sound like a good deal?

Yes if it is new, that's less than wholesale now.

BIG 5 has Marlin 45 Colts for the same price you mentioned: 20" round barrel & straight stocked....

I've been tempted by this at Big 5. I bought my 30-30 there and have been really happy with it.
My problem is that the 45LC (non cowboy) is not listed on the Marlin website or catalog. So, there aren't any published specs that I can find.
How would we know the twist?

That sounds like an 1894S. If it is as you say, new in the box, then that is not a bad price.
