I have been so lucky to have the good fortune of finding some great items this last month. I got this Colt SAA holster that was probably made by A.L. Holtzer of Llano, Texas. Almost the same holster is on page 124 of the great book "PACKING IRON". The Texas Rangers loved his holsters along with S.D. Myres and A. W. Brill. The badge came from a separate buy. It is a large Sheriff's circle star nickle badge from Hidalgo County, Texas. It has the old tube catch that dates from 1883-1896. A lot of the "Bandit War" action took place in Hidalgo, Cameron, and Webb Counties. All located in the "Nueces Strip" area of Texas. The "picture" trade token is from Laredo, Texas. It dates the same period as the badge. It came from "Uncle Johnny Thompson's Beer Garden. It has a picture of the large saloon on the front and "Good For One Drink" on the back with the Budweiser logo. I have had the token for some time. I also got a pre-prohibition circle star Deputy Sheriff badge from Hill County. That's what county I live in. I couldn't get a decent photo of it. I just thought y'all might like to see them. P.S. I also got the S.D. Myres gun belt this month I had in a previous thread. All of the items were purchased at a good price.
Sorry about this photo but it is too hard to keep them is place to take them in and out.
Congrats RR, another couple of nice finds. Just out of interest what are the rifle cartridges in the belt, look a bit like
7mm Mauser though difficult to tell.
