OT What powder and bullet replicates Garand ammunition?

I would like to reload for my Garand so I am looking for data.
Powder, bullet weight, and COL.
I have H4350 and RL17 powder, but if these are not appropriate I can get whatever is.

My Cartridges of the World book shows the following loads:

M2 Ball
Bullet 152 -3grs
Powder: IMR4895--50gr WC852--50gr CMR-100--45gr
All are single base, tubular powders

Bullet 175.5-3grs
Powder: IMR4895
50gr
single base
tubular

Yep, Rob has it right. Stay away from the slow powders--it bends the gas thing-of-ma-jig--at least that is what I have read----don't know from experience.

Very narrow range of powders and bullets. You must avoid bending the op rod. Worked for the military because they stick to one load (or two).

After a lot of asking around and trying a few different combos, I found the best load for my M1 with 48.0 gr. of IMR 4895 and a 155 gr. Nosler Match. Runs right where they want it, at 2750 fps. It's as accurate as I can shoot the rifle. Shot a full clip into 4 inches at 200 yards a couple weeks ago. Hundred yard groups under 2 inches are a breeze.

Cases: Lake City Match
Primers: Federal 210
OAL: 3.32 inches
For the Sierra 150 grain Match King bullet the following powder charges were listed: 48 grains of IMR-4895; 52 grains of Win 748; 52 grains of IMR-4064; 46 grains of H-322; and 49 grains of AAC-2520.

I was thinking the same thing. That sounds like a pretty heavy load for a Garand.

Check the NRA's bookshelf. They sell an entire book dedicated to reloading for the Garand.

According to the NRA M1 Garand booklet mentioned above:
150gr FMJ duplicates the military load with 48.0gr of IMR3031: 49.0gr of IMR4895: 50.0gr of IMR4064: 48.0gr of Win 748 Ball: 49.0gr of Hodg H4895: 49.0gr of Hodg BL-C(2): 48.0gr Herc RL-12.

Thy do not list H4350 or RL-17 at all. I believe the posters are right that these powders are too slow for the Garand.
