Took my Marlin Cowboy Limited out for it's first walk today
I've put a couple of hundred range rounds through her but she has never been out for a walk in the world.
I went deep into the forest today and found a few deer and one lone black bear. No shots taken but it was nice to have such a nice carry gun along.
I had a scabbard built with knapsack straps that worked really well.

Re: Took my Marlin Cowboy Limited out for it's first walk today
Its always nice to take a Marlin CB on a walk, isn't it! I know my own behave nicely and are very well mannered when I take them on a walk
Been packing my own Marlin CB on a regular basis the past 36 hours. We had a triple homicide just down the rode a couple miles yesterday morning and the killer is still on the loose, police reporting 'armed and dangerous'. Who'da thunk
So in addition to my sidearm I've been packing the rifle I shoot the most on a most consistant basis. A .44 CB.

Here's the scabbard. It's got leather covered steel protecting the action and has a removable boot. I had it made as a rifle case and at the last minute decided to have the maker add packpacker straps. It works pretty well.
I've got one strap double wrapped to serve as a handle to carry it like a suitcase.

How about a picture of you wearing the scabbard. This way of hiking with a lever gun intrigues me. Very nice rig

Heck, you can tell that by the color. Rover's have always had their own paint colors. And they have always made good sense.Pete44ru wrote:Better vehicle pics 'd be nice too - izzat a Rover ?![]()
