OT: Hope this dont happen to YOU

Post by 3leggedturtle »

For the last 2 weeks have had no desire to look or think about what my next rifle should be. Even going thru the midway catalog doesnt stir me. :( Might have to force myself to stop at a Cabela's or Pawn Shop and handle a few. :?
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Take a deep whiff of Hoppe's #9 and go spend four hours at the range shooting.
Repeat as needed.

That should fix you right up.

Dr. Paperpatch's prescription for such ailments is,

Get out and shoot the rifles you already have...and you will feel as right as rain.

At one point it got so 'bad' that on the way home from the gun shop to pick up that 'last gun I really need to round out my collection', I'd already be thinking what one I had that I didn't really need anymore, and what the NEXT 'last gun' was that I needed to trade that gun for...

I think I was obsessed with trading anything off I didn't need, and winding up with some sort of 'perfect' collection as a result.

Been working on it for 35 years, and although I've bought more than sold, I still haven't got it right...

...maybe just one more trade will do it though - maybe this time...

Now is the time to pick one rifle from your collection and really "work it out".

See what it, and you, can do.

If you have no taste for the new, rediscover the old.

Just relax and think it through you will be OK. You know you have a problem when you start buying a rifle to replace one you already had but sold or traded. Having more than one of the same is ok though because they become a collection then. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :D :D

Hang in there Turtle! This is just a lull in the action. This too shall pass.

When I got "bored" with my guns I started all over; went back to my .22 rimfires and had a great time "rediscovering" guns and shooting. It only happened once and Leverguns.com helps greatly at keeping the "blues" away...
