Custom Armaloy Marlin 1894c

Post by Warhawk »

I ran across this one at a local gunshop that usually has completely outrageous prices, but this one was $415 and I snapped it up.

It's a pre-safety Marlin 1894c that has been Armaloy plated, the buttplate has been replaced with a a metal buttplate, similar to a saddle ring carbine buttplate. The action is super smooth, I just brough it home yesterday and haven't had it to the range yet. The optic is a Swift Firefly red dot sight.

Better buttplate than most, though Marlin's rubber ones are nice.

I like the finish - appears like 'satin stainless' in photos.

Might not be SAFE to shoot, though, so if you want to send it my way for a year or two of exhaustive testing, feel free. I'll even provide my own ammo...

Looks like you did well at that price.

IF properly done an Armaloy plating job is as good or better than a custom shop slick up job. Lowers the friction factor and is as durable as stainless in rust resistance. You done good. Good Luck.

Different , but dang fine looking rifle . You did great. I have never heard of that type finish . Reckon it must be ok though, as the others commented . I really like it . :D
The butt plate is one I'd like to put on several of my own guns.

When I first saw it, I thought it was a stainless 1894c and the $415 price made me take a second look. As soon as I cycled the action I knew this one was coming home with me, it's the slickest Marlin I've ever handled.

The buttplate is a nice added touch, but whoever did the wood took off too much metal in the wrist and the tang is proud of the wood now. I can live with it.

$415 isn't a bad price. You could always replace the buttstock. Neat, neat, neat...

I always loved the old write-ups on Armaloy. Never had the opportunity to own one but I'd say you are very fortunate.

Mine looks just like that one. But eabco called it french grey. I don't really know what it is, but it's really a hard finish.

Armaloy is still in business, several locations across the country. I looked at the website for the one in Fort Worth and they still do firearms plating.
