Hornady 357 FXT

Post by gm42 »

Hey Guys,

Has anyone hunted with this ammo. How does the 140 gr. FXT compare to a hand loader 185 gr hardcast bullet for deer and hogs?

Thanks,

Geoff

I think the FXT is made for self defense and IMO is a bit gimmicky with the rubbery tip. A properly stoked up hardcast would probably shoot thru both a pig and a deer if you could get them to line up correctly. If you want to use a jacketed bullet, I'd probably suggest the 158 gr XTP-FP, otherwise the Hardcast will be superb.
