21 miles of trail in 2 days, that is some serious work. Great pictures.

Danny, you should of been named Riley because you sure have his life. One of these days I'm going to have to get out there and visit with my cayuse. Beautiful country that's for sure and for certain.

Ten years ago or so, I promised my grandson a fishing trip to Montana if he made the Babe Ruth Allstars in baseball. He did and we went. Part of the fishing was on the Yaak River. Had a great time, beautiful country.
I bought him his first fly rod...probably went overboard, but I'd do it again. I was wondering why he was being so polite and let me get out of the river and into the willows ahead of him. Then I remembered the grizzly warning! I still have one of the brochures that were past out. The person doing that said about the only thing to do in the case of an attack was to put your head between your legs and kiss your@#$% goodbye! Did have a .44 Mag. pistol and a 45/70 rifle along however.
My grandson caught the biggest trout...a native redside of about 2 1/2 lbs. We celebrated with lunch at the Dirty Shame Saloon in the community of Yaak. He also found a shed moose horn in the Thompson River.
He is now a career Marine...three tours of duty in Iraq and an upcoming one in Afghanistan. He still talks about that trip.
