Got the 92 from Homestead.

Post by williamranks »

Got it today. Build date was 1897. Its a sporting rifle with 23" octagon and a tight action.
When I first checked it I said "Gee, that rifling is shallow".
2 hours later using Klean Bore Lead Away and a good solvent I said "Gee, that rifling is deep and sharp".
Anyone used Macon Gun Stocks?

I've bought two from them. Machine inletted, nice wood, properly dried. You will end up removing a lot of wood for final fit. Nancy's Rem 1100 lost a cool 1/4" all over. I left it fat and heavy with a mercury weight on my 1886 EL, but still lost 3/16 easy in the wrist area and forearm.
Kind regards,
Tycer
