I got to handle it when Mark picked it up off the consignee's table. He looked at me and said, "pretty mint, huh".......then he showed me the documents.
We get all sorts of neat stuff showing up at our monthly collector meetings.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

You need to straighten your boy Mark out !
He says the rifle had cut rifling .
The only 1972 to 1979 rifles of this type that had cut rifling were the first 8,000 or so in 1972 . After that they brought out two different versions of Micro Groove which he "thinks" one happens to be cut and it isn't !
Now maybe someone rebarreled the rifle but it sure as he!! doesn't look like it !
Parkers , Mannlicher Schoenauer’s , 6.5mm's and my family in the Philippines !

Excuse me, "...straighten your boy Mark out"
1. He's not a "boy", nor is he my "boy".
2. If you have a problem, with my friend, contact him.
3. If you know something that he doesn't, then let him know. He knows he's not perfect.

I told him my opinion already !
Before I made the post you quoted .

I gotta say your buddy was much better to email with then a guy on Gunbroker about 6 months ago who claimed to have a factory made Ruger #1H in 460 Weatherby !
I asked him about that and none of his comments were pleasent to say the least !
And on top of that in his case you could easily see in the picks where the barrel had a slot milled where the original caliber designation had been and then it was stamped over !
Nothing that I or any other Ruger collector had ever seen

His reputation and integrity are what gets people to consign their high end stuff, to him. I've never met or heard from a buyer or consignee that was disappointed doing business with him.

Shoot, for a second there I thought it was a real 1895 Marlin, not one of the recent 336s stretched out to handle longer cartridges.
