Italian made 92's have recently appeared on the market. The fit and finish looks up there with or even superior to basic Brownchesters (here I note in particular walnut quality).
Has anyone any experience with how they shoot?

If you run a search on Chiappa here you will find there have been some issues with them.

I own a Cimarron model 1892, have only shot 10-15 rounds thru it. Not enough to state or say any issues. But I do not shoot SASS or cowboy action of any kind. Leaf springs may not be as strudy as coil springs. IMO, this may be the cause of some of the Italian issues. But let me assure you, I will have fun testing my theories.

Looked good but had lots of problems mechanically and the mag tube band could not be tightened up sufficiently. I traded it off quickly and now stick to the old and proven.

As Bruce suggested do a search on Chiappa.there is a long post about one of our members problems with one of those
. I wouldn't touch one myself.

Re: Has anyone any shooting experience with the new Italian 92's
They've been out for two to three years now. First Taylor's, then Cimarron, now Legacy (LSI)--the latter two the only offering in .44 Mag. They are fine looking pieces. Maybe when Steve (NKJ) gets rested up, he can address some of those issues. He noted some small parts problems (or at least druthers) early on--some he fixed for himself with Rossi pieces--and was asked by (or vice versa?) Chiappa to review their new '86 to (help) insure it was right from the get-go. Maybe he's had a chance to more "officially" weigh in on the '92 as well. Hope so, as the Chiappas are the most cosmetically accurate 92s since, well, the 92s. It'd sure be nice to get the whole package together. Can't have too many '92 choices.
