Screw for a Lyman 21 sight
I came across am original Lyman 21 sight for my original 1895. I don't think the front screw is correct. It is a flat head screw for a counter sunk hole, meaning the bottom side of the head is tapered. Does anyone have an idea what thread and what the head is supposed to look like? Or possibly if someone had an original they could draw or photograph or even sell? Thanks in advance.

He can also machine the screw for you at a surprisingly small cost.

Re: Screw for a Lyman 21 sight
If that screw has a shank below the threaded portion , it's the right screw. It goes in the hole that is intended to drive the lever/bolt connecting pin out of. (That screw head up on the left side of the reciever close to the top that doesn't appear to hold anything)
Re: Screw for a Lyman 21 sight
ps, that outfit that makes the reproduction 21 sight now should be able to provide you with the proper screws if you are missing some. Can't think of their name at the moment but if you search Peabody rifles you should find them.
