I have some original 35 caliber 300 grain bullet. I need help with loads for the 35 whelen improved and the 358 winchester. I know this bullet will take up alot of room in the 358 and velocity will suffer, but to poke old griz in the nose at 5 feet I think it will work.

And the manufacturer of the powder you wish to use,...or, was recommended by Barnes for that projectile.

Barnes doesn't make the 300gr .358 bullet anymore!! I've tried on a couple of occasions to buy 35 cal Original Barnes Bullets and get a polite letter saying, not. You can try contacting them, I'll be suprised if you get any data.

I have called them before on loading discontinued rounds and I spoke to a ballistics guy within 30 seconds who gave me some great recipes. They should have the data, no problemo.

Guys, Hawk Precision Bullets http://www.hawkbullets.com/maintest.htm is your answer. They manufacture bullets using the same process Barnes used on their originals. AND . . .
Their jacket thickness is variable, from, I believe, .025 through .068 inch.
They make a bazillion bullet designs, and for a modest fee, will custom make nearly any bullet caliber, shape, weight, jacket thickness you want.
To identify loading data, call them. To get your "perfect" Barnes Original that is better than anything Barnes made, here is your source.
Hope this helps.
