Nice job guys.

I was amazed at how effective that .243 was. I never paid much attention to that cartridge.

I can't believe you won't let me post a comment on YouTube (about how mean, heartless, and cold n2t is :D )

.243 Win is a great little round. I have taken 2 mule deer with an Encore pistol in .243 and have seen others take many deer and pronghorn with it.

Good show, Will and Amanda. Are you still in MN?

Good clip.

Felt like I was there.

Nice shooting! The way those pigs were hanging around they act like they haven't been shot at that much.

Sitting here watching the video, watching, watching, thinking to myself .... shoot already ..... bang .... darn near jumped outta my chair.

OK, question time:
A: What was the range?
B: What did the little porky pig weigh?
C: Why didn't you pop the bigger buff colored one with the black legs?

Good video, I enjoyed it.

Yes we are still in MN for the next day or two.

Range was about 50 yards I believe, the one in that video weighed 130lbs, and we were trying to get one under 100lbs (as there was an extra charge for the big ones). Its a challenge judging weight we found, feeling safe with one of the smaller ones in the group but it still being over 100. Also it was one of the only ones that gave a good safe shot with no risk of clipping any of the others in the group.

Ok, I understand now. Bigger pigs = more money. I had not read that as I was unable to participate so I didn't pursue the details.
From the perspective of the video and the javalina I got some years back I was thinking that pig you got was around 50 pounds.
Boy was off.

Really cool!! I know with ya'll in MN now you must be missing our warm Texas mud :D . If you can believe it, sense you left we have had more rain and then snow. It is REALLY nasty now. You two be careful on the rest of your trip and let us know when you get home safely.

We misjudged the size too, thought we were being very conservative! The rest compared to that massive one all seemed much smaller then they actually were.

We ended up leaving at the perfect time, a beautiful warm Texas day. We avoided the storms up north by a day and missed the weather you had by a few days too. I would say we're lucky but then I go outside into the blinding bright 7 degrees and suddenly wish for the warmer mud once more.

Nice one shot kill. How did the .243 bullet preform? I always thought that with that light bullet at such a high velocity you wouldn't get a pass through, is that right?

I took both my hogs with strait on head shots, no at 50 yards with a 100grn hornady interloc at 2900 fps you do not get pass throughs. the bullet basicly hit the skull and blew up, turning everything to mush, both pigs shot bled from the ears and nose and pretty much had goo from the skull to the back of the neck. Not huge penetration, but very good results. Next time I am thinking of using a tougher bullet however. Not for better effects, but just so I can paunch the pig from any direction, make the butchers jobs more fun.
