Need some info, folks. Would this gun be D&T from the factory?

I'm pretty sure they never were, but mine are the older ones though.

That may be a special mount. Is it drilled or does it slide onto the dovetail with screws to keep it from moving back and forth. Pictures don't show any screws out front.

Good question Byron, I'll ask. The gun looks good, the price seems right, but I do prefer originality.

Looks like a Weaver TO-10 mount that has 2 set screws to hold it from moving.ladder13 wrote:Good question Byron, I'll ask. The gun looks good, the price seems right, but I do prefer originality.

If the screws are in that tight I'm sure it did something to the finish on the dovetail.

NO Win 9422's were factory prepped (D/T) for either scope mounts or peep sights.
The onlyest factory mounting provision was the typical rimfire grooves atop the receiver.
So:
That 9422XTR has been D/T'd aftermarket - since that Weaver base doesn't look like any Weaver loc-on base I've ever seen.
The loc-on base is taller, to allow for clamp screws through the side.
I noticed that there's no good pic of the mount/screws, when the seller says are loc-tited in.

I don't know why they bothered, the mounts on the dove tail would not of moved any way. Looks neat though (the gun that is).

Looks like a screw on scope mount to me.
And the rear sight is not only missing the elevator it's missing the blade too.
Two Levers down.

Soooo.....I'm guessing this is not a buy?
Re: ???? about 9422M XTR
Why not? If you want a collectors model then no. But if you want a workin' gun then yes.

It's not a bad buy, at the price it was when you first made the OP.
I would (and HAVE) only pay more for a pristine/original sample.
