Wood polish/protectant/preservative

Post by edsguns »

A recent posting on a good leather conditioner cleaner got me thinking a couple suggestions for a product you like to help protect or feed your wood stocks might make a good subject as well. My favorite, by far, is this one: Natchez Solution. I found it in a little antique shop in a small Kentucky town. It works on everything from a true oil finish to factory satin lacquer to a poly finish on a laminate stock. It works especially well on rifles whose checkering was cut after finishing and could use some protection or coloration there. It really brightens up the typical factory finish found on Marlins with two or three applications. More suggestions?? :?:

The most important aspect of this signature line is that you don't realize it doesn't say anything significant until you are just about done reading it & then it is too late to stop reading it....

I've been using Scott's Liquid Gold on every gun I've ever had. Mom used it on all our furniture except her grandmother's wax finish drop leaf table.

It will soften cheap poly finishes, but they eventually harden back up.
Kind regards,
Tycer
