It was -8 degrees with 15-20 mph winds when I got up Sunday morning with the intent to go to the range. I don't want to hear you crying about mid forties!

How could I NOT have had a great weekend. Spent both days hunting with temps ranging from 9* to a toasty 23* :o !! But, one of theose days was spent with my mitts (and mittens..lol) wrapped around a nice 1895/45-70!! No deer rode home with me in my truck, but that's fine too!

Ditto. And I'm in what is ostensibly "sunny Florida".

It was a nice day yesterday. Actually got some sun. Went to the range with the sharps. She was shooting good too.

Mid Forties! Time to open the windows!

Great weekend.
Sat. Got the new Marlin out of lay a way and
took a bunch of pictures of Blondie and her new puppy.

Sunday spent the whole day with my lovely wife ( the boys spent the day w/ their dad)
Went to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie and late luch out.
As a Sherlock Holmes fan I was little dissapointed in that it wasn't "Holmes " type story
and I had it pretty well figured out by the end but the acting and action were excellent.

I went to a NF logging road with my new XMas1911 and unloaded 40 cartridges.

FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN GUN

Gets to empty pretty fast tho.

Flattened some bullets on my 8" stainless gong. Shot some 12ga hulls off the log. Spun some rocks around.

An altogether great day.

No shooting, no reloading, but did work with Y2K on his archery merit badge. This is going to be a snap for him, since he's on his school's archery team (which went to the national finals last year). Still slow going, but heading in the right direction!

I spent Saturday morning in Kimble County inside a plywood box blind in 10 degree cold. I know that ain't chilly to some, but for this Texas boy that's the coldest weather I've ever dragged my sorry carcass out to hunt in. Moving around wasn't too bad, but sitting still was a killer. Apparently, most folks had more sense than me because I didn't hear even one shot fired (except for my own) while I was out there the whole morning. Guess I didn't get the memo... :o
