my shop just had one in nice condition go for $750. Condition is everything. Nice rifles. Almost made me get a 30-30.

"Great shape" with patience can fetch upwards of $1,000 or even $1,200 (eventually) even in this economy. SRCs (we're talking Pre Wars of course) seem to have a somewhat logarythmic curve. From fair/good to very good to great is about 25% jump each step, then to truly pristine can just about double. NIB or like condition, extremely rarely seen, can go 50% again (92s 75-100%).
