IME, for range use they are OK. For serious social work run far, run fast. The same holds for Pro-Mag with very few exceptions.

Probably the best overall aftermarket mag is Mec-Gar. They are also OEM for several manufacturers.

BY "N" LARGE THE TRIPLE K MAGAZINES ARE THE PICK OF THE stuff LITTER. MANY ARE SO BAD I WONDER HOW THEY'VE STAYED IN BUSINESS ALL THESE YEARS. RIGHT BEHIND TRIPLE K BUT STRONGLY VYING FOR FIRST PLACE ARE THE USA MAGAZINES WHICH WOULD ALL BE HIGHLY USEFUL IF THEY MADE 'EM FOUR FEET LONG SO WE COULD USE 'EM AS TOMATO STAKES.

I've had experience with only one Triple K magazine.

When the original magazine in my old TP-22 broke back in the mid-90's, I promptly ordered a replacement from Triple K.

The magazine cost more than half what I originally payed for the pistol, but it would have been well worth it, if the dadblasted thing has worked as well as the original.

With the original magazine, myold TP-22 was 100% reliable with any high-velocity or hyper-velocity ammo. And it was capable of poting soda cans out to 50 yards.

With the new Triple K magazine the old pistol became downright finicky about the ammo it would feed and the ammo it would not feed. Accuracy also deteriorated. i'd be lucky to get a four or five inch group at 25 yards. To say I was displeased would be a vast understatement. To say that I was violently, vociferously, and profanely infuriated would be much nearer the mark.

i cannot and will not say that all Triple K magazines suffer equally from such poor quality. I will say that I do not wish to spend my money on further experimentation.

As for the magazines you mentioned, all I can say is: "You pays yer money and takes yer chances."

personally, I'd let 'em pass.

Still doesn't matter what firearm the mags are for. Triple K doesn't make the better mag on the market period. Ask pretty much any mini-14 owner.....

I've seen Triple K mags may look slightly better than USA, but knowing the functionability is identical I would spend more on a different company's product. Any company's product.

I had a couple for Mini-14, and one worked fine, but the other's lips were not bent right, and cartridges could just pop out spontaneously.

I did manage to use a steel dowel, brass hammer, and some colorful language to get it shaped right, then (dunno if this was needed, or helpful, or could have worsened things) I heated up the lip area with a propane torch to orange-ish, then dunked it into some old motor oil (outside). I presumed this would 're-temper' it. I did this maybe 10-15 years ago, and the magazine still works flawlessly. On both of them, I also used a point-punch to pull out the rear 'catch' area that is only minimally protruding (unlike the factory one's welded-on plate).

As much work as I put into re-building them, they should have been free or really cheap, but I don't recall if they were. Still, better than making my own from scratch, at least!

I have only ever been dissapointed with both KKK and USA mags, I wouldn't even give them to a friend, they went in the scrap metal bin.

OP, for a few dollars more, maybe even the same money, you could get quality mags from Kimber or Wilson, why waste $20 on scrap metal?
