And parts of the area to the east of me are under a tornado watch.

I'll take that over 4-6 months of snow ANYTIME...

Perfect Christmas weather here. 27°, temp is dropping, and its snowing right now.

Both kids drove home from college and the family is all together again. It doesn't get any better than this!!!

BTW, Next Monday we're flying to Cancun for a week in the sun.

Lets see ......

Currently in Springfield, IL:
At my back door it is 40º F.
It's been raining all night and all day.
I expect the basement to start flooding any time.

Hope this crappy rain turns into snow.

I had my air conditioner come on awhile ago today. I turned it off and set it up to 76. Later on this week it will be in the twenties at night. That's Texas for you.

High today was 31 & it'll dip to 9d's tonight. Bright & sunny thruout the week, but cold.

Ice is everywhere. Have to put the nags together tonight in the upper pasture, the lower one is a skating rink.

Stay warm & safe!

Yeah, I will kick on the AC here to make it more comfortable to sleep. It is 74 right now, 99% humidity and yes, we have the same tornado watch. It just feels like tornado weather out there.

A little snow would be nice though.

We had almost zero degree weather for about three weeks then for about a week it got up to around 40 during the day and about 37 at night. Starting with about 2.5" of snow it became a real mess. The last couple of days it's gotten to about 36 during the day and down to low 20's at night. Solidified the ground and dried it up.

I am working on plowing the driveway for the third time today and if that county plow comes by one more time.... :x :x :x

Tomorrow though it is supposed to hit the mid thirties and have a 1/2" of freezing rain to coat the accumulated 12" of snow we have now, then it is supposed to snow a couple of more inches tomorrow night.

I lived in Oklahoma for a few years in the 70s but never saw Tornadoe watch one day and snow the next. And I thought our house was designed as tornadoe magnet.

It rained like Noah's day last night. I got rivers in my ditches. It's still thundering outside now. Temperature has dropped drastically in the past two hours.

I'm near the PRX, just south of Okiehoma. Looks like we might get a white day-before-Christmas.

Here's some shots from earlier today:

Maybe not a "real" snow but par for the course when we gey snow rather than just an ice storm.

Hank started going ballistic while we were cleaning. I looked out the back door and saw we had lost a sizeable limb from one of our trees. I had decided a couple of weeks ago that it was finally dead and was going to take it out between now and the spring. Looks like Mother Nature decided I needed a hand. Of course Hank had to go out and protect his yard (and of course I had to take pics  ) but this is the first snow he's been a part of.

So far it has missed us. We had a few very light flurries and a bunch of wind, and it's getting chilly out side.

It was 28 degrees last night when the gas from the well froze and the heat went off until we added methanol to the dryer system. It was 33 degrees today for the first day of the split Doe season when these showed to help shovel the walk.

Ha. I wish I had taken picture this summer. We had a good hail store that left almost 2 inches of hailstones on the ground. I have two black lab crosses that were fascinated by it. Hours later they were still licking the ice. Heaven forbid that something good to eat or chew on get past them!
