Mossberg 464 questions....

Post by nralover »

Okay, this rifle has been on the market for awhile now- has quality improved at all? I know that sometimes a new rifle has growing pains, and I had read several posts on various boards about subpar fit and finish, broken extractors, etc. Has anyone been satisfied with one of these? Also, do they have a rebounding hammer? I'd love a straight grip .30-30, but I won't buy a total piece o' junk....

As much as I suspect it's probably just fine on a case by case basis, I still would have to recommend a used Winchester 94. Here's a gem:

i'd like to see it chambered in the .338 marlin. otherwise, i'd go with the winchester. a pre-64 might be a little pricey, but, your getting A LOT MORE GUN! too many post 64's out ther to pay that price for a new gun that has issuses. now, that's just my little peabrain opinion, but, you did ask
