Found! Marlin 1894 PG .41 Magnum...

Post by Steve Collins »

Somebody buy this thing! It's at the Cabela's in Lacey, WA; price tag reads $549. It needs to go to someone who'll appreciate it.

Wow! I have ZERO use for one but that seems to be a pretty good price for a not too common rifle...

Just hope it has a .41 barrel. :o
My Brother bought a new one 15 years ago, it grouped like a Shotgun. he finally sluged the bore and it was .431". Had a 44 mag barrel attached from the factory with a .41 chambering.
He sent it back to Marlin and they replaced the barrel. The piece was still no good. He never got it to shoot right. He finally traded it for a Marlin Cowboy Limited 24" octagon 45 Colt.

One of the problem I hear, is Marlin uses the 44/45 carrier in the 41. With my Brothers piece they modified the carrier with JB weld to get it to feed properly, and just O.K.. It would still jam intermittently.
I doubt Marlin will ever try a .41 chambering again.

Buyer, beware !

I had one that would shoot 1" at 50 yds. The only thing I didn't like was the 20" barrel.

That's one i wish I'd hung on to.

Those are neat! I wish the 41 was more popular. It's a great deer gun.

I had a chance at one for $400 a while back. It didn't really appeal to me at the time, but now I'm wishing I had grabbed it.
