WANTED win94AE scope mounts and opinions

Hi, I have a Win ranger 94 AE , 30-30 that I took my 1st with the other day. (4 pt)
I love the gun but my eyes aren't what they used to be. I want to mount a sm possibly 4x scope low on top and need recomendations as to mounts, etc. also where to order good ones.

I have this setup on one of my 94AE's...and it was money well spent. It functions perfectly...and looks great on the rifle. I have a Leupold 4x scope on it as well.

I couldn't agree with PaperPatch more, his choices are perfect IMO. Leupold offers quality scopes and assessories, not to mention a lifetime warranty.

If interested you could save a few bucks by ordering from Precision Scopes, I'm not affiliated with these guys but have ordered a few times from them and have never been short changed. I like free getting the freebies.

When you order the scope you will be asked to pick some free items, the Alumina Lens covers and scope covers are my recommendations, but they have several others to chose from, just pick your poison.

BTW, the sights on my 94AE shrunk also, so I need to get some glasses.

Thanks to all that replyed. i have williams peep on rear and standard on front. it was 50 yd, 1 shot, 1 step and 3kicks and I had to drag him down mountian. I was pumped! but I'm thinkin a low 4x would be GOOD.

I went a little different. Weaver 2 pc. base Warne QD medium rings and M8 leupold 4x scope. Scope is easy on and off. Notched the center of the bases and can use open sites. 94 AE 444

You need to look at the position of the front mounting screws.
Some recievers had mounting screw holes radially drilled in the front of the receiver. The most common have the hole at the top.
I use all redfield one piece bases on my ae's.

I have ordered a inexpensive 2.5x32, a set of weaver bases and a set of weaver rings. it will be a coupla weeks b4 home to get them and install but I'm hopefull.

Pick the good name brands! These gents are correct. I bought a set on ebay for a AE and the rear mount did not match the screw holes on the receiver. I was out the cash and my 4X Redfield still sits in a box.

I use a 94ae trapper in 44 magnum. I have a Bushnell Banner 1 x 4 with a circle rect. and it is awesome. I have it set at 1x walking in the woods and can EASILY follow critters running in the brush with it. Two years ago, I had a neck shot at 75 yards so I turned it to four and it was an easy shot.

Its incredible how easy it is to aim with a low mag scope, even on moving targets.

I have a 94 AE Wrangler in .44 mag. When I need a scope, usually for testing loads, I use a Leupold 2.5X scope in Leupold mounts and rings. Normally this gun wears a Williams Fire Sight front sight and a Marbles Semi Buckhorn rear barrel sight.
