Marble Arms Co. is making their Game Getter guns again

Post by Cliff »

A buddy in Gladstone, Michigan sent me a letter that states Marble Arms is making a third generation developement of the old Marble Arms Game Getter firearm. They claime they will be making parts for the original 1908 and 1921 models as well. These are a 22Lr and 410 combination gun. were outlawed with the NFA was passed in 1934, but the new one is good to go as fully legal. Only sticking point is the price, $1995. Supposed to be introducing them at the 2010 Shot Show in January. Pricey but interesting. Just thought I would pass it along. ATB

I heard about this myself. I got very excited when I heard the news, but the price is far beyond what I would pay. You can still find originals for that price. If they were to keep it under $500, I know quite a few people that would take the plunge. But, Marbles has had a rocky few years and can't seem to keep their buisness matters going. They must need the money. Too bad.

I read a press release that said they will be finished and assembled by Turnbull Restoration. I think that may be part of the reason for the pricing. They will probably have top quality finishing work. I'm not sure how that matches with their origins as a field gun though.

sounds like it's going to be a collector's piece as opposed to a real hunting gun

I'd like to have one too but not at that price. Instead of having it finished by Turnbull using a charcoal blue maybe it could be done by Cheech and Chong with Krylon to bring it more in my price range.
