It's been a long couple of days, lost my father in law

Post by iceman »

Sunday morning around 10:30 am my brother in law called me and said he just found is Dad on the ground beside his car dead. He was in a very bad state and could hardly dial the cell phone. My name was on the speed dial. I jumped in the car and drove over to the farm. (longest 5 minutes in my life) I made the needed calls (911 etc) and tried to help as much as possible. At the time we knew he had been there all night. The horses were still in the barn, the closes he had on etc. He had gone out for dinner , drove home locked his car and never made it to the house. Massive heart attack. Only 74 years old, but well spent. Raised 5 girls,3 sons. Ran a small dairy farm and raised and raced Standardbred horses. He out lived his wife and one son. He will be missed. Tomorrow will be longer, funeral parlor etc, funeral on Thursday.

Our prayers go out for you and your family.
Sounds like he lived a good life - now he joins his wife and son, to wait for his family.

God bless.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Republic. I like the sound of the word. It means people can live free, go or come, buy or sell, be drunk or sober, however they choose. Some words give you a feeling. Republic is one of those words that makes me tight in the throat . . . . Some words can give you a feeling that makes your heart warm. Republic is one of those words.

Thanks to everyone! Great bunch of people here. I forgot to mention when my BIL drove in Rusty, his Ritweiller was sitting beside him keeping guard. Really man's best friend.
