new old Marlin - 1886 /1889

Post by Bang »

I traded a new marlin for an old one.

> light to medium rust in spots, a previous owner used steel wool to remove any surface finish along with the rust.

Who makes a reasonable replacement butt stock ?

Wonder what a nice brown rust finish would look like ? - despite the pitting.

I love these old rifles - what history must it have to arrive here in Australia.

Not screaming like the passengers in her car !

Is there a 21st Century lever action?

Having read some Australian accounts of settlement I saw many similarities with US settlement patterns including the use of firearms. I bet it does have some stories to tell!

Those old rifles are really neat. Too bad it can't talk.
