OT- special run of obsolete ammo - anyone?
I was thinking the other day (know that is dangerous but doing it anyway) that it would be nice to have another run of .32 rimfire or perhaps .41 rimfire or even .41 Colt done. Is anyone else interested? Does anyone know what the minimum number of rounds is? The cost? I ws thinking if we could get 4 or 5 guys together, maybe a group buy could be swung. Seems like the stuff is scarce now and if you had 1000 rounds or so you could easily unload what you did not want yourself at the gun show.
Thoughts anyone?

The last .41 rimfires I know of came from Brazil, several years ago, and the quality was horrible. A good friend had a Remington Derringer in .41RF and wanted to shoot it some, for CAS. No go...
The priming compound seemed to be the problem, as it was not ditributed evenly -- if at all -- around the inside of the rim. A few rounds finally fired, after being turned in the chamber and re-struck. Some did not fire at all. I pulled the bullets on the offending rounds and made the discovery.
In a box of 50, only 13 rounds actually fired, eventually.

Is Brazil the only source for a group buy?
Seems to me that the volumn of product would allow some "in country" producers to be interested.
Or has this already been explored?

About 5-6 years ago Old Western Scrounger had Aguila (Mexico) produce a batch of 22 Winchester Auto they had a required minimum production, of 250,000 rounds.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

I have a friend with an original Henry, he wants a box of shells to shoot it. It's been in the family since the 20's. Just one box.
How long has it been since they ran any 44 rimfires? Seems like Navy Arms has had a couple lots made in the past.

so I'm gathering here that there is little interest, and it's probably impractical as minimum runs would most likely be somewhere north of 100,000 rounds......

I could use some 32 rimfire. I have a Marlin, a Stevens, and several old handguns in need of some food!
