OT - Any LE's in Orange County, CA?

Post by bsaride »

If there is a Law Enforcement officer in Orange County, CA that would help
with a DROS on a revolver that dropped off the CA DOJ list between auction
end and delivery to my FFL on this list could you send a PM?

BSA, if it dropped off the DOJ list for CA, I'm not sure that there is anything anyone here can do for you. Hope you find some help. -Tutt

I was looking at an on-line auction for a S&W Mod. 29. I noticed the shop selling it was near to my location here in LA County. The S&W was not for sale in CA! I emailed the seller and was answered back that that particular model (or series or ??) is not on the list! My Mod 629 is/was legal when I bought it in '87, and I know a couple guys with Mod. 29s., but I guess that particular revolver's serial number hadn't been tested by DOJ. I didn't bother to check out the DOJ website for model/series/??; just got disgusted and left...

Good thing I'm leaving CA, it's just too weird here.

You should field this question over on calguns.net. They could offer suggestions. A lot of CA LEOs hang out there.

Ok, thanks Gary.

On registering there they had a random question. The answer was one (typed to match question) the real answer was 1.

I'm registered now but have an appointment, will get back to it in about an hour.
Thanks for the tip.

Well posted over there and first two responses called it a scam.

Guess I will NOT spend any time on calguns.net.

I have one more place to look for help but he just returned from europe and I will see him tomorrow.

Well, not always. Pretty darned easy to get a CCW in lots of states. In most of Califorina it's pretty darned impossible.

Well, here's the scoop.

My FFL gave me info that makes it sound like a straw purchase.

Caught alot of stuff on calguns. Offered gun on calguns. One interested party I haven't heard back from. Still taking stuff over there.

Posted revolver (S&W 66-5, 4" RB K frame) in classifieds here. If no offers I will post on S&W forum monday evening.
