howdy

Post by legacy38 »

Howdy folks. I'm a new member here. My leverguns would like to say howdy as well via some poor quality pictures:

Image
A recent find dating to 1980 (I think, serial number starts with 20 ). It doesn't have the cross-bolt safety. It is missing the rear sight elevator and the screw from the forearm band, but it is in good shape otherwise.

Image
My "tactical 336CS". The metal is parkerized in black, and it has a Ramiline synthetic stock. I bought this back in high school in the late 80s. I think it dates to 1986 (I think, serial number starts with 14 ). The scope is a Bushnell 1.75-5x32 scope. At 1.75 it works well up close. The rings are Leupold quick disconnect rings so that I can get to irons if needed. The scope isn't currently residing on top of the rifle as I needed if for another project. I'm thinking of doing a scout rail with a Burris Fastfire and adding Skinner or similar sights to it.

Image
This 1959 Winchester 94 snuck into the woodpile last week. It has a few cosmetic issues but is mechanically sound.

Welcome! BTW: On this board, "cosmetic issues" mean character...they add to the real value of the rifle.

Lot's of good thinking going on in this forum. Lot's of diverse experiences and opinions which will ultimately make you a better levergunner. And lots of good friends on here as well. Pull up a stump.

Nice levers.
Welcome aboard. I am new to (kinda) so far, this sight has been real great. :D
And the "cosmetic issues" are part of the gun. That's why I like used guns. They come with the dents and scratches that I was gonna put in them anyway.

legacy38,

Welcome to the forum. Long time no see.

The Marlin elevator and screw is easily acquired from Marlin, and the Winchester simply has many stories to tell. If you sneak into a quiet room where there are no Marlins to distract it, the Winny just might tell you some stories.

Hi. I'm also a newcomer.
I live in central Brazil and even though I've some other guns, two are my beloved ones:
A Rossi 92, 357 mag, 20", purchased in 1978;
A Winchester 92, 38-40, 20", made in 1926.
I do have pictures of both but I just don't know how to get them in here.
Some help would be appreciated.

Regards.
