what lever guns are on your want list ?????????updated

Post by DarryH »

My list is short enough.........
1. Winchester Model 73 in 44-40. Rifle length of course.
2. Winchester Model 95 in .30 Army (30-40 Krag)
3. Savage 99 in 250/3000

I'd be happy enough for a while.

I own
Winchester 9422 in 22 LR
Winchester 92, 24" octagon barrel 32-20
Winchester 92, 24" half round/half octagon barrel 32-20
Winchester (Miroku) 92, 24" round barrel, .357 magnum
Winchester 1886, 26" barrel, 45-70
Another member pointed out I forgot my newest gun.
Winchester Model 94 Centennial Model in 30-30.
I wonder what else I have forgotten???

Good Shootin!!

Old 16 inch Winchester or Marlin. It will probably be a cut down version because of price, but I'm in no hurry. :)

Ones actually made: Marlin 1894C .357 Mag in Stainless Steel, spare Ruger 96/22 or 96/44 (to modify to .45 Colt?)

Ones not made (yet): Short-action Levergun in .500 S&W or Long-action Levergun in .460 S&W

Ones probably never to be made: Ruger 96 in .32-20 Win, .357 Mag, or .223 Rem, even .45 Colt or .480 Ruger

1895 Winchesters --- 30-06 Saddle ring carbine, and full length .405

winchester 1886 in .45-90 (something different)

Vintage model 94 30-30 , and a later model in .307 to complement my late model

1892 carbine in .44-40 or .45 Colt

I also want both a Model 9422 and a Model 39 Marlin someday, although my Henry is filling the .22 needs more than adequately

It looks like i am heavilly slanted towards Winnies, but that is because my Marlin needs are currently met pretty well with a Guide Gun and an 1894 in .44 Mag.
But --- in the interest of spicing things up, i also would like to add one of new Marlin SBL's (Super Blasters) in .45/70 and a new Marlin .410 lever action

I will have to work a ton of overtime to procure 10 new rifles  I have been wanting an 1895 for months, but i keep getting sidetracked with other projects/ "good deals"

Realistically or unrealistically?

My list is as follows: 73 IN 44WCF, 94 in 32-40, marlin in 35cal.

Unrealistically would be a winnie 94 for each year they were made.
Got a good start so far-1912, 14, 16, 40, 41, 42, 46, 49, 54, 65, 67, 77, 83.
I guess I need to land me one of those big executive jobs so I can afford all of this.

Believe it or not, I did see a copy of a lightning(I know, not a lever) in 500 S&W that a local had built and was trying to sell. Wanted too much money for it and had a lot of problems.

The shop has a Canadian Centennial short rifle with saddle ring which would make a super, excellent .38-55.

The Winchester 94 that my Dad gave me when I was 13. Upon entering the Army and being ever so dramatic, or shortsighted(I'll never need this again.... ), I gave it to my oldest brother who gave it back to my Dad. I don't think he ever forgave me for that one and all requests to get it back have failed so far. Sure wish I had it back. It was just a 1970's Winchester 94 but heck he gave it to me so like a few other guns, priceless.

A Shiloh Sharps in 45/70...German Silver trim. Since the early Shiloh's and C. Sharps came out in the late 70's early 80's, have never stopped wanting one.

I want a original 1886 in 45-70 octagon barrel with the full length mag to replace my 1903 86 in 33wcf with half mag. I have wanted the 45-70 oct since I was 15 finally got a 86 at age 43 but it's just not the one I want, but it is in original configuration so I don't want to add the 45-70 octogon barrel that I have. AAARRGGHH Yes I do. No No I don't, yeah I think I do, no it's not right, but I think I do. Tom

20 cows,
You're a Winchester guy, do you think it would be doable to convert my 1873 Winchester rimfire to .22 magnum?
Before you guys lynch me, it is not a collectable, it is an original .22 rimfire Winchester 1873 rimfire, but it is in the " needs to be restored condition "

I think the list of the ones I don't want is shorter........

Oops, their are none I don't want.
I suppose this shortened list of ones I want will have to do.
*Marlin 1894 45 Colt and 357 Mag
*Marlin 1895 SBL 45-70 with scout scope
*Winchester 1892 45 Colt or 44-40
*Some kind of scaled-up version of the 1895 Marlins to be chambered on 460 S&W
*Custom-built Marlin in 475 Turnball
*Ruger 96/44 (cause Dad won't let me use his  )
*Savage 99 in 308
*Savage 99 in 30-30
*Marlin 336 in 35Rem (so I don't have to use Dad's  )
*And well the list goes on, but their is not enough room on this page.......
Levergun: Marlin, Ruger, Hornaday, Henry, Williams, Leupold
Black Gun: AeroPrecision, Magpul, Streamlight, Remington, McMillan, Sierra, Badger Ordinance, Harris, Jewel Triggers, Leupold
Archery: Hoyt, GoldTip, Axcel/TruBall, FeatherVision, Specialty, AAE, VaneTec, Doinker, ZeroTolerance, TopHat, Leupold

I have one of the uberti 73 carbines in 22lr and it is hands down my favourite rimfire ,I wish Uberti was still making them as I d love to have a 73 sporter in 22 mag.Though cobbling one up wouldn t be too hard.
If you had the standard Uberti 73 you could use the parts they make for the rimfire 66 to convert one.The only thing you would have to make would be the right side plate. It is dooable but a bit expensive

1. Win 95 SRC 30/40 or 30/06...........
2. Marlin 1894m .22 mag...................

...the rest I will take as I stumble across them when I have the dollars to spare.....which is coming to an end real soon......the company I work for is restructuring and streamlining...now I'm getting early retirement October 1, 2009..........about 4 years earlier than I had planned.

But, I have accepted it and know GOD has a plan for me. I am excited to see what HE has waiting for me.

My "want" changes every few weeks. I imagine I've wanted each of the main styles at one time or another. My current "want" is an 1886 replica in .38-56 Improved with a half mag. and a long half-round barrel. By this time next month I'm sure I'll be craving something else -- that's why I haven't yet gotten around to buying a lever since moving back to the U.S.

I kind of want a Marlin 336-W, the one with the gold trigger.

I will get it if I trade some things in, I'm thinking about selling some to reduce caliber inventory and if I do, I'll double up on 30-30's. I already have a 336-A with forend block in 30-30.

I have Cimarron 1873 Deluxe Sporting Rifles, with pistol grip stocks and 24" barrels, in .38-40, and .44-40, to go with the .32-20 when it gets here... Again it will be a Deluxe Spporting Rifle with the pistol grip stock and a 24" barrel.

With those three calibers, you pretty much have everything covered... Except for the long range contests, and I have a Marlin 1895 CB in .45-70 and a Marlin 336 CB in .38-55 for those endeavours.

Now that I have a Takedown BLR on lay-way, I reckon the elusive Marlin 1894C SS remains on the list. I prefer blued rifles, but stainless steel has its place here along the Gulf Coast, for utilitarian firearms.
Have Colts, will travel.
