Anyone know what the 92 Rossis are going for?
I planning on ordering a stainless 16" 44 Mag and while checking on the price my normal gun shop told me cost (their cost) was 471. I'm thinking that's about retail unless these things have gun up substantially. I generally pay 5-10% over cost and I'm thinking he was seeing retail. All the guys I normally order my guns from have been out of town hunting and should be back tomorrow but I'm curious. Thanks,
rob

All of the new prices I have seen recently have been over $500 - some well over. However, I haven't actually haggled price for one in some time.

It depends on where they order gun from, for example, Davidsons is usually higher than other outlets(but they have a lifetime warranty on most guns they sell and mean it). Still, that's considerably less than what was paid for my stainless 454 Rossi wholesale by Steve http://www.stevesguns.com 3 years ago. I imagine prices have gone up a bit since. MSRP of the 16" Legacy on their site is $534 so $471 doesn't sound too out of line.

Thanks guys...I guess they have just gone up a lot. I'm not too surprised but I remember when I could buy one a lot cheaper than a Marlin. I'm still debating a stainless 44 Marlin or a stainless 92 Rossi. I've had great luck with Marlin but that little 92 sure is handy with a 16" barrel. BTW, what is the address for the websight? I looked at the Rossi sight earlier today and I couldn't find a word about 92 leverguns, just the single shot rifles. Thanks again,

Rossi doesn't work that way anymore. Check out the US importers, EMF, Legacy Sports, and it appears that Navy Arms is no longer an importer. Your best bet is to get one from our own Nate Kiowa Jones.

Philip (Joel) Rezak is listing carbines for $379 and rifles in mid $4s or so on Gunsamerica. (search EMF 92) Can't speak specifically for stainless and/or the shorty .44s. Rezak usually deals in EMFs (but probably can get you anything), but I don't think they're providing a stainless/shorty .44. All things being equal, at least on the regular (octagonal) rifles and the carbines, I'd go with EMF 'cause of the better sights. LSI does have a broader array of lengths and calibers to choose from however. Give Joel a call - great guy to deal with and consistently some of the best prices around...again at least on some of the Rossi models.

Your gunshop is feeding you bull. Current dealer pricing is running in the $375.00 range for the stainless 44 mags.rob wrote:I planning on ordering a stainless 16" 44 Mag and while checking on the price my normal gun shop told me cost (their cost) was 471. Amateurs....I believe that's the problem:) They have a bunch of new kids there and the guys that I order my guns from have all been on vacation. I think he was looking at a retail price because I generally pay about 5% over cost as a former employee and long time customer. At 10% over cost 375 would be 412.50 and that would be a little bit cheaper than the 475 or whatever it was they said it would cost. I'm pretty sure he wasn't looking at cost. I just haven't had the motivation to double check...not sure I really need any more guns. I know, I know....blasphemy;)

+1 on What Hobie mentioned, by far your best bet as the gun will be all slicked up, and ready for action. With another small fee Steve can remove that ugly safety also.Rossi doesn't work that way anymore. JB,
If you would be so kind and tell me where, I'll take 5 of those stainless 44 mags at that price if they are the new ones with the proper barrels.

The guns that JSC has may be the overbore barrels that were a serious problem. I emailed our own Nate Kiowa Jones just a couple weeks ago, and he stated that the problem was just then being fixed. I am sure there are many of the "Problem" barreled 92's out there at a good deal, but I don't want one, as they don't shoot well at all.

JSC is one of my main source. I just check and the cheapest stainless any cal. in not just 44mag was $459.90 wholesale. I was told back in sept to expect a price increase and it looks like it here.
Again, if you can find any of those for that price I might even take some even if the barrels are bad. I think I know where there are some 45lc barrel are for cheap.

They've just upped the price then. I've delt with them for years and when I wrote that post the price I listed was good. I just checked their website and they've upped the price within the last week. The price also jumped WAY up on the 454 stainless models. They're $100.00 higher than they were in their last catalog.Nate Kiowa Jones wrote:JB,JB wrote:I don't think it's out of line with what some of the other true wholesale distributors are charging. I'm seeing the same thing with just about every gun I've priced recently. I was told about a coming price increase on the EMF's months ago but was also told it wouldn't be officially announced until the shotshow.JB wrote:They've just upped the price then.
