OT - Thank you 86er!
Dad and I went fishing yesterday with 86er and it was a lot of fun!!! We caught a bunch of fish. Sunfish and panfish mostly. 27 of them. Dad even caught some fish, though some were more like minnows!!! We tried to catch some bass but they weren’t biting. The last fish we caught was the best. It was almost dark, and I pulled in a carp!!! It was a whopper. Almost 8 pounds. 86er helped me gut it and fillet it for my Boy Scout merit badge. He froze the fillets for us so we could take them home today. We got to meet Tycer and his wife for dinner that night and breakfast this morning. They were really nice! Dad and Mom helped me clean the fillets, then we dipped them in an egg and breaded them and fried them up. It was awesome! Everryone in my Scout troop is going to be so jealous.
Thank you 86er, Dad and Tycer (and Mrs. Nancy) for a great time!!!
PS. When 86er and I were gutting the fish a fox came up into the yard 10 feet behind us. Dad saw him first. 86er thinks he was eating some minnows he threw out in the yard. I think he wanted to steal my carp!
Good night. I'm going to bed. I'm still really tired from this week and fishing and being up late and up early and my jr lifeguarding class and I have church in the morning. See you guys!

Good fishin' Y2K! I love to fish, too. So, which do you like better...fishing or shooting? Say "Hi" to your dad from me. Victor

Y2K hit the hay (hey, that rhymes!) right after he borrowed my computer to make the post. I'm sure he'll catch the responses tomorrow. I'm not far behind him. Last week I was out each night of the week on business, and then last night we stayed local after fishing so I wouldn't have to drive 3 hours home (after 7 hours of driving already that day), and the afternoon and evening of great fishing and better company! We had a blast - but I forgot my camera!
Joe snapped several pictures, so I am sure he'll post them soon - hopefully not tonight, as he'd got to be beat too and I know he was missing the family.
Joe is simply the best. Anyone who has a chance to hunt or fish with him is going to be very impressed, very happy, and very satisfied with the adventure!
It was great meeting Joe and Tycer (and the Mrs.)! This forum is just made up of the highest quality people anywhere (which again, doesn't explain my presence here - must be affirmative action!!!).
Thanks guys!

86er, I doubt I'll ever got down there for a visit, but if you're ever up in Central Ontario, Canada, give me a call and drop by for coffee, a meal, and a good visit. (same goes for any other levergunner!)

Yep, that 86er is good guy. Y2K, that sounds like an awesome day! Even though I hate fishin', I still remember the times I spent in SoCal as a youngster with my stepdad fishin' on the ocean with very fond memories. Mostly because with my dad in the boat... it ain't fishin', it's catchin'! Me, on my own... it's just fishin'!

Nancy mentioned it and I noticed it too. YKK is a good young man. Great man's handshake, well spoken and engaging, sincerely polite. Just a nice guy. We look forward to meeting him again.
Nice meeting you YK. I hope we get to spend some more time shootin the breeze.
86er is a great guy too. I always enjoy his company. Nancy had a great time too.

Thanks for the compliments. It was a pleasure hosting you and a reunion of sorts spending time with Ty and Nancy.

Y2K is a great kid! I probably overloaded him with information. We spent the first 1/2 hour with a lesson including: line management, how to use the rod for casting and lure action, different ways to reel, setting the hook, rigging up the line and baiting the hook and a few other odds and ends. He caught on quick and did a great job! Congratulations!

How great, what a time. A patient recently gave me a "mess" of crappie filets and they were FABULOUS! It had been years since I had had any.
