Hey Hobie!

Post by odinohi »

With the 311008 Lyman mold. What diameter does it drop bullets from the mold? I'm looking at buying one new and need to know. On the Midway site it shows it as a .312", On the Midsouth it shows as a .311". Wondering what it actually is before I order. My 1894CL in 32-20 shoots the laser cast .313" 115grs real well and thats the sizing die I now own. Thanks, Tom

The 311008 isn't one I would suggest for the Marlin 1894CL 32-20 .

A better choice would be the no longer made Lyman 311316 which is a 113 grain GC bullet .

Also the Saeco 115 grain Plain Base bullet works very well ! Sorry I don't remmember the number for that one . But I got mine from Midway !

I've had very good luck with the 311316 running it thru a .312" sizer .

JimT and others suggested the 3118 or 311008 as a good all around bullet for the .32-20. Got to start some place! Unfortunately I haven't gotten to cast any yet. Need to do a bunch, as well as the 457192s. *sigh* and with the wife out of school after today...

Hobie

I like the 311008 in my .32-20`s . From a new Lyman mold purchased last year, they almost clean up in a .314
sizing die and shoot just great at that size. :D
