There has been an increased interest in Alligator hunting. I set out to find our clients the best opportunities at the best prices. I talked the talk and walked the walk all over the Southern states with an alligator season (TX, SC, AL, GA, FL). While I conduct 'Gator hunts in Texas, the season is very limited (May), and the price is affordable but not the biggest bargain. Well, I hooked up with some private land in Florida that has unbelievable year-round alligator hunting for phenomenal prices! I made arrangements with citrus groves, cattle farms, golf courses and nurseries. If you buy a plant at Wal Mart or Home Depot anywhere in the lower 48 it came from this nursery, the largest in the US. You will see hundreds of 'gators in a day! The hunts are by swamp buggy, boat, spot and stalk or scouting by truck. You can use any means of harvest including rifles, bows, crossbow, handgun, muzzleloader, bang stick, etc. After 50 or more alligators and about 1 1/2 hours I saw one I wanted. I could have shot it with a rifle when it surfaced and swam by but I felt that was not really challenging and a bit too easy for me. Instead, I waited until in submerged to the bottom and I saw where the bubbles were coming up. I cast a 4 pronged grappling hook past the bubbles and slowly cranked the reel. When the hook stopped, I yanked on the rod and set the hook! The line is a special 250 pound test that is specifically manufactured and sold to the alligator hunting market. Hooking a 'gator is a fight to remember. It took nearly an hour and a half to get the brute to surface. We passed the pole back and forth among my client and I. When I got the dinosaur to break the surface and got a look at him I knew he was the right one. If it had not been the right one, we could have made every effort to release him and he would be unharmed (the hooks have no barbs and are not long enough to reach vital organs). I passed the rod to Pete, my client and told him to pull until the 'gators head came up. When it surfaced again, I promptly sent a bullet between his eyes. Upon the crack of the handgun, the gator instantly became still. We struggled to pull him ashore ( all this was conducted on land from the bank). The alligator was 9 feet even and 338 pounds! If you're interested in a free-range guaranteed alligator hunt within 80 miles of Disney I've got them! The ridiculous price is only $550 for a 6 footer or $1050 for a 9 footer! That includes your license and everything else you need including equipment. If you are interested in a huge monster gator over 12 feet I can make that happen too, but they are rare and therefore cost a bit more. A 30-30 levergun, any BLR bottleneck caliber or just about any other firearm that will shoot precisely where you aim at 50 yards will be just fine! With this task complete I packed up with the clients and went after another type of hunt....
