OT--- another movie review: Wyatt Earp

Post by Streetstar »

Hadn't seen the Kevin Costner Wyatt Earp version in full since it hit VHS after it was released. (think it was around 94, maybe 95)

I bought the dvd recently and held off, as i knew it was a long, drawn out affair ----------- well, tonight was a rainy night and i had little else to do

I practically have the movie "Tombstone" memorized, but i forgot how good this one was if you had 3 hours to watch it. Excellent flick ----

although the 90's were full of 3 hour Costner flicks, with Dances, The Postman, Waterworld, and this one as well --- what was up with that guy? Oh well, catch it if you can find it --- this movie was greatly overshadowed by Tombstone.

This one's still pretty good though

You're a daisy if you do!

Why Johnny Ringo, you look like somebody just walked over your grave.

Preferred Tombstone but this was good too.

I agree, great movie despite its disarm the citizen parts. I thought they kinda rushed wyatt and docs freindship, and would have prefferd it if doc never shoot johny ringo. I also would have prefferd it if they had slowed down the vendetta ride toward the end which was good but short. I appreciated that they portrayed the gunfight at the ok corral about 50/50 with the earps being the agressors.

I have both on DVD. I like them both both have always figured you need to watch them both to get a better picture.
Kurt Russel looks more like the real Wyatt Earp but Kevin Costner played it a bit more on the evilish side.

So I agree with Streetstar and say grab the pop corn and watch 'em both.
