35/30-30 conversion

Post by 30hrrtt »

Anybody rebored a 94 to the 35 x 30-30 round? I'm thinking about a cast bullet shooter.

Who can do the work?

Looking for any info I can get.

i have a 94 beater in 30-30 . i'd love to have it converted to .375 wcf.,especially, for the price he's asking. my question is, aren't the 375 bigbores designed for higher pressures than standart 30-30? is this conversion safe? what about the buffaloe bore .38-55's? anybody have this done? thank you. :?:

If you want to rebore a standard Winchester 94, I'd go with the .38-55 (I did twice). With handloads you can leave the factory level loads in the dust. The .35-30 would also be a good way to go.

DO NOT REBORE A STANDARD 94 IN .375 WIN! The .375 is a much higher pressure cartridge, leave it to the Big Bore 94 frame.

I beleive they made some 94's in a "big bore" configuration, with a heavier receiver. Some were made in .30-30, some in heavier calibers.
